From home via St Denys Road, Cobden Bridge, Bitterne Park Triangle, Bullar Road, Bitterne Road, Northam Bridge, Princes Street, Millbank Street, Belvidere Road, Marine Parade, Albert Road North, Itchen Bridge, Bridge Road, Portsmouth Road, Pound Road, Hamble Lane, Satchell Lane and Hamble Square to Hamble Quay. 8.80mi 14.16km.

A break by the river at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane, Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods to the café. A break, sitting outside the café. From the country park via Hound Road, Hound Way and Station Road to Netley station. 3.98mi 6.41km. Train home.

A cold wind but some good spells of sunshine.

Sunday 4 January

From home via St Denys (Horseshoe Bridge), Itchen boardwalk and river path, under Northam Bridge, Princes Street, Millbank Street, Belvidere Road, Marine Parade, Albert Road North, Itchen Bridge, Bridge Road, Portsmouth Road, Lowford Hill, Portsmouth Road, Oak Hill, Bridge Road, Swanwick Shore Road, river path, marina and river path to Shore Road waterfront in Warsash. A break with a coffee in the sun. From there, back to the ferry pontoon. 9.67mi 15.56km. Ferry to Hamble.

From Hamble Quay via Hamble Square, High Street, Hamble Lane, Ensign Way and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods to the café for a cup of tea, sitting in the sun nearby. From the country park to Netley station via Victoria Road and Station Road. 3.59mi 5.78km. Train home.

A frosty start and only slightly above freezing throughout the day. Sunshine and a light breeze however made it very pleasant for a walk.

Wednesday 7 January

A break at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, School Lane, Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Across the park to the café for a break, sitting outside. From there to Netley station via Victoria Road and Station Road. 3.98mi 6.41km. Train home.

12.79mi 20.58km.

Some nice sunshine but a very cold wind, particularly along Hamble Shore.

Friday 9 January

From home via St Denys Road, Cobden Bridge, Bitterne Park Triangle, Bullar Road, Bitterne Road (Lances Hill), Peartree Avenue, Bridge Road, Portsmouth Road, Pound Road, Hamble Lane, Satchell Lane, Hamble Square, Hamble Quay. 8.52mi 13.71km.

A break at Hamble Quay, sitting in the only spot sheltered from the wind by a hedge. Then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane, Hamble Common, Hamble Shore, Hamble Common, Copse Lane, Hamble Lane, Coach Road and Westfield Common to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park, through the woods and across the fields to the café for a break, sitting outside. From the country park to Netley station via Victoria Road, and Station Road. 4.83mi 7.77km. Train home.

13.35mi 21.48km.

A grey day with a cold wind. Kept out of the wind as much as possible by spending time on Hamble Common and in the country park.

Saturday 10 January

From home via St Denys Road, Cobden Bridge, Bitterne Park Triangle, Bullar Road, Bitterne Road (Lances Hill), Bitterne Shopping Precinct, Bursledon Road, Le Marechal Avenue, Bower's Drive, Hamble Lane, Jurd Way, Portsmouth Road, Oak Hill, Bridge Road, Swanwick Shore Road, river path, marina, river path, footpath to Shore Road waterfront. A coffee by the river, then back along the river path to the ferry hard. 8.36mi 13.45km. Ferry to Hamble.

From Hamble Quay via Hamble Square, High Street, Hamble Lane, Ensign Way and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods to the café for a break, sitting in the sun nearby. From the country park via Hound Road, Hound Way and Station Road to Netley station. 3.61mi 5.81km. Train home.

A cold day but very nice in bright sunshine and only a light breeze.

A cloudy day. Milder than recently.

Round the park, through the woods and across the fields to the café for a break, sitting outside. From there via Hound Road, Hound Way and Station Road to Netley station. 4.30mi 6.92km. Train home.

A sunny start but the cloud was building by the time I reached Hamble.
