From home via St Denys (Horseshoe Bridge), Itchen boardwalk and river path, under Northam Bridge, Princes Street, Millbank Street, Belvidere Road, Marine Parade, Albert Road North, Itchen Bridge, Bridge Road, Portsmouth Road, Botley Road, Bursledon Road, Kestrel Park, Le Marechal Avenue, Bower's Drive, Hamble Lane, Satchell Lane and Hamble Square to Hamble Quay. 9.32mi 15.00km.

A break at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane, Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Sat by the water for a while. Round the park and through the woods to the café for a break, sitting in the sun nearby. Then out to Victoria Road and Station Road to Netley station. 3.97mi 6.39km. Train home.

A short break by the sea then round the park to the café. A break with a drink in the sun nearby. From there to Netley station via Hound Road, footpath and The Badgers. 3.06mi 4.92km. Train home.

A misty start but the sun came out at midday. Remained very hazy over the water. Ships' sirens sounding throughout the afternoon.

A break at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane, Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods to the café for a break, sitting outside. Then Hound Road, Hound Way and Station Road to Netley station. 3.96mi 6.37km. Train home.

A bright start, clouding over later. Still mild but with a chilly wind in places including at Hamble Quay.

Sunday 9 March

From home via St Denys Road, Cobden Bridge, Bitterne Park Triangle, Bullar Road, Bitterne Road (Lances Hill), Bitterne Shopping Precinct, Bursledon Road, Kestrel Park, Le Marechal Avenue, Bower's Drive, Hamble Lane, Jurd Way, Portsmouth Road, Oak Hill, Bridge Road, Barnes Lane, Brook Lane and Newtown Road to Strawberry Field. Stopped for a drink before continuing via the footpath, Shore Road waterfront and footpath to the ferry hard. 8.76mi 14.10km. Ferry to Hamble.

A break at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane footpath, Hamble Point car park and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods to the café for a break, sitting in the sunshine nearby. From there to Hamble station via Hound Road, The Orchard, Hamble Rail Trail footpaths and Hamble Lane. 4.10mi 6.60km. Train home.

Mild again but with hazy sunshine and mist over the sea. A cold front on the way with lower temperatures from tomorrow and a north wind.

A break at Hamble Quay then via Green Lane, Hamble Common, School Lane footpath, Hamble Point car park, School Lane, Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. Round the park and through the woods for a break outside the café. From there to Netley station via Hamble Lane, Hound Road, Hound Way and Station Road. 5.62mi 9.04km. Train home.

A day of sunny intervals and quite a lot of cloud. A very cold wind at Hamble Quay, Hamble Shore and in the country park.

Sunday 16 March

Ferry not running. Along the river path to the marina and the river path again to Swanwick Shore Road. From there via Bridge Road, Oak Hill, Portsmouth Road, Lowford Hill, Hamble Lane and the footpath at Hamble rec into the Royal Victoria Country Park. Across the park to the café. Found a seat nearby to enjoy a drink in the sunshine. Then to Netley station via Hound Road, the footpath and The Badgers. 6.82mi 10.98m. Train home.

17.03mi 27.41km.

Sunny and quite warm - when out of the chilly breeze.

Walked there. Ferry to Hamble.

A break with a cold drink then up the river path, Shore Road waterfront and the footpath to the ferry pontoon. 10.33mi 16.62km. Ferry to Hamble.

Sat by the water for a while before heading round the park to the café for another break, sitting outside.
