Hampshire Bus was formed from
the division of Hants & Dorset on 1st April
1983. In April 1987 it was sold by NBC to Skipburn
Ltd, a company formed by Hampshire Bus Co's managing
director and the owners of Stagecoach. |

The Wilts & Dorset Bus
Co was another section of the former Hants &
Dorset company formed in the April 1983 split. The
company was bought by its management in 1987. |

Solent Blue Line |
 |
|
 |
Musterphantom, a subsidiary
of Southern Vectis trading as Solent Blue Line,
began competing with Hampshire Bus and CityBus in
Southampton in May 1987. Hampshire Bus sold their
Southampton, Eastleigh and Waterside services to
Solent Blue Line in October the same year. |

The new companies quickly introduced
their own colours and logos. |
This was Hampshire Bus Co's
prior to the Stagecoach takeover. |

The first of these three pads
of Hampshire Bus emergency tickets has the National
Bus Company logo while |
the later two have the post
NBC version. Otherwise they are the same as the
previous Hants & Dorset tickets. |
