Special Fares and Charges |
As a result of the fares
revision of 17th June, 1973, the following
amendments now apply: |
Children's Fares |
One child under 3 years
of age in company with each fare paying passenger
and not occupying a seat is carried free.
Any additional child under 3 years of age
and all children aged 3 to 13 inclusive are
carried at half the adult single fare to the
nearest penny above EXCEPT that when the child's
journey commences BEFORE 0915 on Mondays to
Fridays (excluding Bank Holidays) the full
ADULT fare will be charged. The interpretation
of this time rule is based on timing points
as shown in the Company's Official Timetables.
If a passenger boards between timing points,
the NEXT timing point will determine the fare
to be charged, e.g. where the bus is scheduled
to depart from the previous timing point at
0912 and the next timing point at 0916, the
off-peak fare (half) is charged. |
Day-Out Tickets |
Are available on the
day of issue only at fares of 70p adult, 35p
child (under 14 years of age), and 15p dog.
They are available for unlimited travel with
no restriction on time or distance involved
on the day of issue and passengers may break
their journey at any point. They may be used
on all 'Hants & Dorset' Stage Carriage
Services, on 'Provincial' services in Gosport
and Fareham, on the former 'King Alfred' services
in the Winchester area and on services operated
jointly with other Companies. These tickets
are not transferable and are available on
'Hants & Dorset' buses from the Conductor. |
NOTE: The child rate
for children under 14 years of age applies
AT ALL TIMES and there are no time restrictions
on issue or availability. The dog fare is
only available if the accompanying passenger
buys a Day-Out ticket. |
5-Day 'Busabout' Tickets |
Are available for any
five consecutive days at fares of £2
adult, £1 child and are available for
unlimited travel with no restriction on time
or distance involved and passengers may break
their journey at any point. They may be used
on all 'Hants & Dorset' Stage Carriage
Services, on 'Provincial' services in Gosport
and Fareham, on the former 'King Alfred' services
in the Winchester area and on services operated
jointly with other Companies. These tickets
are not transferable and and may be obtained
by post or at any of the Company's offices
but not from the Conductor. |
NOTE: The child rate
for children under 14 years of age applies
AT ALL TIMES and there are no time restrictions
on issue or availability. 'Busabout' tickets
are not available for dogs, but Day-Out tickets
may be purchased for dogs by a passenger holding
a 'Busabout' ticket. |
