Wooden Ticket Racks: The first two shown here holding Bournemouth Transport area Hants & Dorset punch tickets.
We also carried weekly, day-out and transfer tickets in racks like these, as in the third example.
 
 
Fare Chart Cover:   Complimements Slip:
A hard cover for loose leaf fare charts. When I started I was issued with a ring binder like this to hold my fare charts. However, like most conductors, I quickly found it better to keep my charts in a clear plastic folder. This kept them in better condition and made it easier to find the fare you wanted.   Overprinted with the post code.
 
Fleet Number Plates:
1254 (Woolston depot), registered JEL 273 in 1949/50, a Bristol K5G with L55R (ECW) body. Withdrawn before September 1971.
1286 (Southampton depot), registered KEL 729 in 1951, Bristol KSW6B with L55R (ECW) body. Renumbered 1349 in September 1971.
1290 (Southampton depot), registered KRU 956 in 1951, Bristol KSW6B with L55R (ECW) body. Renumbered 1353 in September 1971.
1520 (Fareham depot), registered CLJ 867C in 1965, Bristol FLF6B with H38/32F (ECW) body, renumbered 1217 in September 1971.
1574 (Winchester depot), registered LLJ 440F in 1967, Bristol FLF6L with H38/32F (ECW) body, renumbered 1271 in September 1971.
 
   
Depot Phone Numbers: A plate like this was fixed in the cab of all Hants & Dorset and Wilts & Dorset buses. It shows the phone number for the nearest depot in the event of a breakdown or emergency.   Vehicle Information for Drivers: Vehicle Data, Driving Techniques, Breakdown Recovery Procedures, Vehicle Cold Starting Procedures.   Ticket machine box: An unusual design but standard Hants & Dorset. This one is from Winchester. Some had handles on the ends.

Bus Stop Flags: These metal bus stops were common throughout Hants & Dorset territory until the 1970s when they were replaced by standardised signs with a pictogram of a bus. Request stops were cream with green lettering. The one shown would have been bolted to the top of a pole. This would have been green on the bottom half and cream on the top half for both bus (or compulsory) stops and request stops. The fare stage sign can be removed.  
In the case of NBC companies, the new style stops would have a green or red stripe under the bus image, with the company's name in white. Below this might be route or fare stage numbers.
 
 
In 1980 area branding was introduced. The Southampton area was branded South Hants. Vinyls with this name were applied to bus stops and buses.
 
 
A small vinyl was available to add to non Hants & Dorset bus stops.
