Hamble Quay 1.45mi / 2.33km - turn right on to Hamble Lane. There is a short distance where there is no footpath on the right hand side. At Coronation Parade shops there is a route to Hamble Shore via Coach Road. If going to Hamble Quay, continue along Hamble Lane to the square and turn right.   From Hamble Quay 1.45mi / 2.33 km - up the hill from the quay to the square. Along Hamble Lane B3397, passing the Norman church and the Coronation Parade shops. There is no footpath for a short distance on the left side of the road from the primary school. The station is along a short path on the left side of the road.
Bursledon 2.55mi / 4.10km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the pedestrian crossing at Lowford Hill. Turn right on to Lowford Hill which joins Portsmouth Road. Continue through Lowford to the A27 and turn right. This road becomes Oakhill for a short distance and then Bridge Road. At the bottom of a hill you will see a railway bridge. Turn right immediately before the bridge in to Church Lane, then bear left in to Station Road.
Bursledon 3.42mi / 5.50km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the Tesco store. Turn right on to Providence Hill A27. This road becomes Oakhill for a short distance and then Bridge Road. At the bottom of a hill you will see a railway bridge. Turn right immediately before the bridge in to Church Lane, then bear left in to Station Road.
Hedge End 3.37mi / 5.42km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the Tesco store. Take the A27 in the direction of West End Road and turn right shortly afterwards in to St John's Road. Follow ths road down in to Hedge End.
Lower Swanwick 2.65mi / 4.26km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the pedestrian crossing at Lowford Hill. Turn right on to Lowford Hill which joins Portsmouth Road. Continue through Lowford to the A27 and turn right. This road becomes Oakhill for a short distance and then Bridge Road. Go under the railway bridge and over the river to Lower Swanwick.
Lower Swanwick 3.52mi / 5.66km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the Tesco store. Turn right on to Providence Hill A27. This road becomes Oakhill for a short distance and then Bridge Road. Go under the railway bridge and over the river to Lower Swanwick.
Mansbridge 5.75mi / 9.25km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the Tesco store. Take the A27 in the direction of West End Road and stay on this road to the next roundabout at Kanes Hill. Cross Thornhill Park Road A334 and turn left on to that road. By the bus stop, turn right on to the footpath and follow this to its end where it rejoins the A27, now Moorhill Road. Continue along the A27 which changes name again to Church Hill and then Swaythling Road. At Allington Lane roundabout continue along the A27, or take the footpath on the Townhill Way side and rejoin the A27 further along. The name changes yet again, this time to Mansbridge Road.
 
Netley 1.28mi / 2.06km - from platform 1, immediately turn left along the footpath. This path runs alongside the railway line, passing the police headquarters and the rear of the Royal Victoria Country Park. At the Netley end it makes a sharp turn to the left and takes you to a gate which opens on to Hound Road. Turn left here. This road leads to the Royal Victoria Country Park. For the station, cross the road and go along the footpath to the right, again parallel to the railway. At the end of this path is a road called The Badgers. At Netley station, bear left along Station Road. Follow this road to its end where you turn right for the village shops and abbey ruins. Turning left takes you to the main entrance to the country park.
The path alongside the railway line from Hamble station is uneven, can be muddy and is sometimes overgrown. There is a tarmac alternative along Hamble Lane towards the village. Between the recreation ground and Folland FC a path takes you into the Royal Victoria Country Park, passing the entrance to the cemetery.
Netley 1.61mi / 2.59km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the roundabout at Hound Road. Turn left and follow Hound Road which becomes Hound Way and, from Netley Station, Station Road. At the end of the road turn right in to Victoria Road for the village shops and abbey ruins. Turning right in to Victoria Road takes you to the Royal Victoria Country Park.
West End 4.98mi / 8.01km - turn left on to Hamble Lane. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to the Tesco store. Take the A27 in the direction of West End Road and stay on this road to the next roundabout at Kanes Hill. Cross Thornhill Park Road A334 and turn left on to that road. By the bus stop, turn right on to the footpath and follow this to its end where it rejoins the A27, now Moorhill Road. Continue along the A27 which changes name again to Church Hill. At the traffic lights, turn right on to West End High Street B3035.
