The Royal Victoria Country Park offers a choice of paths and trails for running or walking. The park includes a cafe, visitor centre, miniature railway and toilets. An ice cream van is usually present. The tower can be visited.

From Netley village 0.75mi / 1.21km - with your back to Station Road, turn left along Victoria Road to the main entrance. Continue straight ahead until you reach the Seafront Car Park. Turn left here for the Visitor Centre, Tea Rooms and Railway or continue ahead, passing the gate for the Pier and Shore.   To Netley village 0.75mi / 1.21km - go to the road alongside the shore and turn right. Follow this road to the main exit and Victoria Road.

From Netley station 0.88mi / 1.42km - Turn left immediately outside the front of the station (platform 1) to The Badgers. At the end of this short road, a footpath leads to Hound Road. Turn right and enter the park at the top of the road. This route takes you to a point near the Visitor Centre and Tea Rooms.
A slightly longer route, directly in front of the main station building (platform 1 exit), along Station Road. At the end of Station Road turn left for the Royal Victoria Country Park. 1.35mi / 2.17km.
 
To Netley station 0.88mi / 1.42km - take the path along the left end of the Visitor Centre, alongside a car park. Cross an internal road and follow the road ahead to the exit gate on Hound Road. At the end of a row of bollards on the edge of the road, a footpath on the left leads to The Badgers and the station.
A slightly longer route, leave the park by the main entrance and turn right from Victoria Road to Station Road. 1.35mi / 2.17km.

From Hamble village 1.60mi / 2.57km - up the hill from the quay to the square. Along Hamble Lane B3397 to Folland FC. A path on the left, between the football ground and the recreation ground, leads to the cemetery entrance and the country park.
The country park can also be reached along the shore, via School Lane and Hamble Point. 2.60mi / 4.18km.
 
To Hamble village 1.60mi / 2.57km - Follow the road alongside the miniature railway, away from the tea rooms and visitor centre. At the end of the road there is a path straight ahead. This leads to the cemetery. Just before the cemetery entrance, take the path to the right. Follow this path to its end at Hamble Lane. Turn right towards the Coronation Parade shops and continue along Hamble Lane to the square and quay.
Hamble can also be reached along the shore (or the parallel paths), Hamble Point and School Road. 2.60mi / 4.18km.

From Hamble station 1.16mi / 1.87km - from platform 1, immediately turn left along the footpath. This path runs alongside the railway line, passing the police headquarters and the rear of the Royal Victoria Country Park. At the Netley end it makes a sharp turn to the left and takes you to a gate which opens on to Hound Road. Turn left here. This road leads to the country park entrance and a path to the visitor centre and tea rooms.
The path can be muddy. If you prefer, leave the station from platform 1 along Hamble Lane B3397 towards Hamble. A path on the left, between the Folland FC football ground and the recreation ground, leads to the cemetery entrance and the country park. 1.20mi / 1.93km.
 
To Hamble station 1.16mi / 1.87km - take the path along the left end of the visitor centre, alongside a car park. Cross an internal road and follow the road ahead to the exit gate on Hound Road. At the end of a row of bollards on the edge of the road, a footpath on the left leads to The Badgers and Netley station. Just beyond this, on the right, is a wooden gate. This has a sign saying Hamble Rail Trail. Take this footpath alongside the railway line, turning left at Hamble station.
Alternatively, follow the road alongside the miniature railway, away from the tea rooms and visitor centre. At the end of the road there is a path straight ahead. This leads to the cemetery. Just before the cemetery entrance, take the path to the right. Follow this path to its end at Hamble Lane. Turn left on to Hamble Lane for the station. 1.20mi / 1.93km.
The Royal Victoria Country Park is an excellent place to view the passing cruise ships. Note that sailings in the late afternoon or early evening may mean that you are taking photographs looking in to the sun and there may be glare from the water.
