| Bournemouth &
District Motor Services was registered
in 1916. The company quickly spread
further afield and changed its name
to Hants & Dorset in 1920. |
|
| Following the nationalisation
of the railways and with the Southern
Railway as a major shareholder, Hants
& Dorset became state owned in 1948. |
|
| In 1983 the company
was split into Hampshire Bus, Provincial
and Wilts & Dorset. These companies
were sold in 1987 and most Wilts &
Dorset routes have since become morebus
who, in July 2016, celebrated the centenary
of the original company. |
|
| Money raised during
the event was donated to Julia's House. |
