Airport 1.20mi / 1.93km - down Portswood Road past Sainsbury's. Go up the hill and turn right in to Woodmill Lane at the traffic lights. Go over the road and railway bridges and turn left in to Wessex Lane. At the end of Wessex Lane turn right at the lights and bear left on Wide Lane at the roundabout.

Mansbridge 2.08mi / 3.35km - down Portswood Road past Sainsbury's. Go up the hill and turn right in to Woodmill Lane at the traffic lights. Go over the road and railway bridges and turn left in to Wessex Lane. At the end of Wessex Lane turn right at the lights and bear right continuing on the A27 at the roundabout.
St. Denys station 0.42mi / 0.68km - Go down St Denys Road or Old St Denys Road. Cross Belmont Road and turn right on to the Osborne Road South footpath and cycle route immediately before the Thomas Lewis Way junction. The station entrance is 0.20mi / 0.32km along on the left hand side, just beyond the Dolphin pub.
Swaythling 1.13mi / 1.82km - down Portswood Road past Sainsbury's. Go up the hill and straight across at the traffic lights. The road becomes High Road in Swaythling.
Woodmill 1.20mi / 1.93km - down Portswood Road past Sainsbury's. Go up the hill and turn right in to Woodmill Lane at the traffic lights. Go over the road and railway bridges and bear right for Woodmill.
 
Woolston 3.10mi / 4.99km - Go down St Denys Road or Old St Denys Road. Cross Belmont Road and turn right on to the Osborne Road South footpath and cycle route immediately before the Thomas Lewis Way junction. Follow Osborne Road, passing St. Denys station (see below). The road bears left across Thomas Lewis Way to the Horseshoe Bridge over the railway lines. After crossing the bridge, take the footpath on the right down to the river Itchen. Follow this path along the river and under Northam Bridge. Turn right and go up to to Northam Road. Turn left to Princes Street and continue round to the right on to Millbank Street which becomes Belvedere Road. After passing St. Mary's Stadium, the road becomes Marine Parade and then Albert Road North. Turn left to the Itchen Bridge and cross the river. On the other side, go down the steps to Bridge Road. Turn right for Portsmouth Road and Victoria Road or left for Woolston station.
The Boardwalk footpath can be slippery. The path between the Boardwalk and Northam bridge is uneven and can be muddy or wet.
